New community play garden: find out more, give your views

Local residents have secured funding to create a community play garden in the Wood Street area. Next Tuesday (26th June) local residents have the chance to find out more about the project, give their views and get involved. The funding is from the London 2012 Changing Places Transform programme, and has been secured with help from London Borough of Waltham Forest Green Space Service.

The location is the old tennis courts between Greenway Avenue and Upper Walthamstow Road, a few minutes’ walk from Wood Street Station. A launch and consultation event is being held on the evening of Tuesday 26th June. It starts at 7 pm at the tennis court site, then from 7:30-9:00 pm it moves to the nearby Greenway Avenue Cricket Club.

The site is accessed via an unfinished path from the West end of Greenway Avenue (the end near Wood Street) that runs alongside the rear garages and garden sheds of houses on Greenway Avenue itself. Find the site on Google maps here.

Come along, have your say and find out ways you can get involved. All welcome.
