Our community once again got together to celebrate the reopening of the play park in the Wood Street Plaza on 19 April. Here are some reminders (or perhaps a flavour of what you missed).
It all began quietly.
But it soon got busy and then the party really started.
Elisa (the daughter of the Park Refurbishment Supervisor Bashkim) helped to open the event with Angie Bean, one of our local Councillors.
Some of the entries to the fancy dress competition:
And the proud winner:
The children seemed to love the new park – and it proved to be an ideal spot to sit and watch the magic show.
Everyone loved the free Easter Eggs, gifts and balloons.
And as for the new play park itself, some issues have emerged about securing the perimeter, which the Council is aware of. However, one local mum has already given the event – and the new park – a thumbs-up, calling it “a great new addition to the Walthamstow play scene”. Do let us know what you think of it.
Finally, a date for your diary: 30 August. That’s the date for the next fun day in the Plaza. More details to follow nearer the time. Watch this space! (And if you want to make sure you get emailed the information, why not follow this website – see the box on this page.)
