Our volunteer vacancies for the Family Fun Day

Wood Street needs your helpAs the excitement mounts, and the planning cranks up, we are asking again for offers of help for the Wood Street Family Fun Day on Saturday 15th June. To help you decide whether or not you can help, we are giving as much information as we can about the roles we need to fill, and when they are needed. Here goes…

Sponsored Walk

Walkers Registration Desks – 9.15 to 10.15 am
We require one more volunteer to help out on the Sponsored Walkers Registration Desk. Walkers will come to these desks on the plaza to sign in and hand in their sponsorship form and money and receive their arm band and walkers instruction sheet.

Marshal Duties – 10.30 am to 12.00 noon
Four volunteers required. Walkers will be kept on the right route and assisted by the route marshals along the length of the walk route, including the Forest alternative route. Please note: professional stewards will be positioned along the route to help walkers cross roads safely. Volunteers will not be expected or required to do any traffic control duties.

Update 17 May 2013: Sadly the walk has had to be postponed.

Fun Day event in and around the Plaza

Pre-Paid Tickets Sales Stall – 12.00 noon to 4pm
One more volunteer required to help out on the Pre-Paid Tickets Sales Stall. You will be seated at a desk selling tickets  (selling the £1 pre-paid tickets for the Funfair, Climbing Wall and Face Painting).

Child Safety Steward  – 12.00 noon to 4pm
Two volunteers required to keep an eye on the children using the Bouncy Castles, Penalty Shoot Out Game. Child Safety Steward must have C.R.B clearance.

If you can help we would love to hear from you!

  1. Hi, I left an email about “creative” volunteer roles for the Fun Day on the 15th, as I’ve been a volunteer since the art trail in Wood st market Sept 2012.and have come to know many of the business owners, community organisations, and people across the Community. You sent me a phone text yesterday that an email you sent to me had bounced! It may have been due my inbox being full….to busy volunteering to check and empty! I have cleared some space so it should be fine now to email me regarding the fun day roles/activities. david@creativityparty.org

    1. Emma – that is possible. If you get in touch (via the ‘contact’ page) then we can log your interest and get back to you.
