The latest news

It seems that the redevelopment work on Marlowe Road and the Plaza Play Park is now about to start. Is very unfortunate that we are going to see the closure of the Childrens Play Park just before the School holidays are about to start but in my view it never would be a good time to close this very popular and well liked community area.
The Wood Street First Community Notice Case will be moved from the Plaza and relocated on the wall outside the Wells Pharmacy opposite the Plaza.

The dates for the Marlowe Road regeneration works:
27 June – Countryside Properties take possession of garage area near the Lord Brook Pub to prepare for the temporary play area and the bungalows on Marlowe Road to create the site compound

1 July – Information will be provided direct to residents and local businesses with notices fixed around the plaza and play area

4 July –Waltham Forest News advert will be published giving more information on the play area and wider notification of commencement of the regeneration work

18 July – Existing play area closed

27 July – Relocation and removal of play equipment complete

1 August – Opening of temporary play area (near the Lord Brook Pub – closed)

1 August – Countryside Properties take possession of Phase 1A area this includes a large part of the plaza to enable them to commence main works

Wood Street First is planning to join the Party on the Plaza on Sunday 17th July. This is been organised so everyone can come together to enjoy the last day of the Plaza Park. More information on this will be given out soon.

  1. What happens to all the stone and materials that went into the plaza and where can I view the plans of what will exist after the development? How much money was spent improving the plaza when it was just going to be dug up? Will there still be as much space.
What’s happening to all the people who have to be relocated?

  2. would you need a childrens stall at the party like bubble wands etc
