Last week Martin Kearney – longstanding Wood Street resident and deputy chairman of Wood Street First – received an award for his voluntary services to the community at a ceremony in Walthamstow Town Hall. The award was presented to him by the Mayor of Waltham Forest and Diana Leary from Voluntary Action Waltham Forest.
Many of you will know Martin through his work with both Wood Street first and St Gabriel’s Church. You may also have spotted him at community events on the Plaza – most recently of course last weekend’s Wood Street Village Fete – where he has overseen health and safety issues.
Graham Hodgkiss, chairman of Wood Street First, who was there with Martin to collect his award, said “Wood Street First is so very proud and very lucky to have a dedicated volunteer like Martin on our Committee.”
We are sure you want to add your congratulations to Martin for this award.
Well done Martin . Ken
