Local community hero wins Town Hall award

Last week Martin Kearney – longstanding Wood Street resident and deputy chairman of Wood Street First – received an award for his voluntary services to the community at a ceremony in Walthamstow Town Hall. The award was presented to him by the Mayor of Waltham Forest and Diana Leary from Voluntary Action Waltham Forest.

Surprise addition to this Saturday’s festivities: a panda!

We are sure this Saturday’s Wood Street Village Fete is already in your diaries. In an exciting addition to the line-up, the Met Police have announced that they hope to bring an Austin 1100 vintage police car to the Plaza. It will appear alongside a new police car to show the differences.

Panda lovers will be in heaven!

The event kicks off at 12 noon and will finish around 4 pm. Don’t miss it!
